We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that we’ve been shortlisted as finalists in not one, but two categories at the prestigious Northern Farmer Awards 2025! This is a huge honour, and we’re incredibly excited to be recognised amongst so many talented and dedicated farmers in the region.
We’ve been nominated for both the Diversification Award and Sheep Farm of the Year! This incredible achievement is a testament to the hard work, passion, and innovation that our team pours into everything we do here at New Sheepfold Farm. It’s been a journey of constant learning, adaptation, and a passion for what we do.
Being considered for the Diversification Award is particularly gratifying. It highlights the exciting and varied projects we’ve undertaken to grow and strengthen our farm, and we’re so proud of the results. We’ve always believed in exploring new avenues and finding creative ways to connect with our community and offer unique experiences.
We’re incredibly proud of our award-winning luxury shepherd huts at Incline View Holidays. These beautiful huts offer guests a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of the North York Moors while enjoying luxurious comfort, and has allowed us to create local jobs and contribute to the rural economy.
With the support of the North York Moors FIPL and tourism teams, we’ve significantly improved our farm. Soil analysis and expert advice have led to healthier, more biodiverse grasslands, benefiting livestock welfare and productivity. New ponds and scrapes, with NYMNPA Ecologist support, have increased wetland diversity and attracted more lapwing chicks, with hopes of attracting curlews. A meat vending machine in a renovated farm building, promoted via Facebook and BBC Look North, has boosted income and drawn new customers to the North York Moors National Park. Finally, a new hedge and parkland trees have created more carbon-storing habitats.
From our farm shop showcasing local produce to our educational visits we’ve strived to create something truly special.
To be shortlisted for Sheep Farm of the Year is also a tremendous honour. We’re incredibly passionate about our flock and dedicated to raising healthy, happy sheep. We’re committed to sustainable farming practices and strive to produce the highest quality grass-fed lamb.
